“Kristin Vincec is a Toronto based artist, she graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design with a Bachelors of Fine Art in 2009. Heavily influenced by graphic design, and entranced by the human figure, her paintings are an amalgamation of realism vs. abstraction as well as playing with light vs. shadow, ugly vs. beauty, etc. So with these concepts in mind she plays with the notion of the “yin and yang” of nature to create her own artistic sense of harmony within her work. Not afraid to touch on the almost sadistic side of portraiture, the bright colours, and fluid line work give these paintings a movement which is contemporary as well as visually striking.”
